The Five Love Languages

I bought this great book "The Five Love Languages" and I'm tellin' ya, it's a real page-turner.
For those who haven't read this great book, let me describe it for you.
There are five different languages people speak for love, or rather five categories:
Words of Affirmation
Quality Time
Receiving Gifts
Acts of Service
Physical Touch
I bought this book to learn to speak hub's language (which is Quality Time, btw and look what I'm doing right now ... )
Mine is Words of Affirmation, which is a total no-brainer, because look at me, I offer freebies so I can feel the love from you all! That and I love creating. But I love praise and affirmation. Who doesn't really?
Anyway, I bought the book for my marriage but realized I could extend it to everyone. There are some people in my life that I just can't communicate with. If I try to learn their love language, maybe I could. I think I'm gonna try it and see how it goes.
I already know what my children's languages are.
Max's is Physical Touch, because he loved to be hugged and to sit on someone's lap. He's 7 now and lately I have been pushing him off of my lap because he's so heavy. He always looked crushed. Now that I know more about his needs, I can allow him to sit on my lap, even if he is heavy because that's what makes him happy.
Danny's language is Quality Time (like father, like son), so I can help meet his needs by playing games with him and just taking time out for him exclusively.
I am so grateful there are writers out there to explain stuff like this. Because really, I'm kinda selfish and will usually do what I like when I like it.
But, I guess who isn't that way, too. But I'm really trying. Could you affirm me ;)
If anyone out there wants to find out what their language is, you can visit this Web site. It's too cool. http://www.fivelovelanguages.com/
Now I should go spend some Quality Time with my sweetie!

Here's your freebie, the preview is posted at the top. I call it "So You Want Shabby?" Dumb name, cute stuff, though. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Hi Steph! I am SO glad I found your blog! The 5 Love Languages is the book I most recommend to clients for marriage counseling. It has had the greatest impact on me and my husband (now married for 25 years) and is by far one of the most useful books I've ever "laid hands on"!

Thanks for sharing it with your readers!
